City Excluded As Police Unveils Statewide Fine Payment Website

Must read

To streamline fine payments for traffic violations across Karnataka, excluding Bengaluru Urban, the Karnataka State Police has launched a dedicated website. Alok Kumar, the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Traffic, disclosed this significant development, mentioning the introduction of the website, accessible at https://payfine.mchallan.com:7271. This platform allows individuals outside Bengaluru Urban to conveniently settle pending fines and check fines against their vehicles statewide.

Previously, residents had to visit local Traffic Police Stations or use platforms like KarnatakaOne or BangaloreOne for fine payments. However, with the launch of this new website, the burden on Traffic Police Stations is anticipated to decrease, facilitating online fine settlements.

Despite the substantial backlog of 3.25 million pending traffic violation cases, fines totaling Rs. 1,700 crore were collected by the end of March. Notably, Bengaluru city alone accounts for Rs. 1,425 crore in outstanding fines. The mounting challenge in collecting such significant sums prompted Bengaluru Police to seek public input on addressing the issue.
