MLC Chalawadi Narayanaswamy has accused the state Congress government, led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, of failing to fulfill its promises. During a press conference, he stated that the government’s actions contradicted its words. Narayanaswamy criticized the Congress government for not providing the guaranteed support promised to the Dalit communities. He claimed that instead of allocating funds for Dalit development, the government diverted funds towards guarantee schemes.
According to Narayanaswamy, neither the Chief Minister nor other officials are willing to address these concerns, alleging that the Congress manipulates Dalits for votes while keeping them economically disadvantaged. He emphasized that the Lok Sabha election should focus on national and international issues, yet Siddaramaiah treats it as a state-level election. Narayanaswamy insisted that the Congress should highlight its national contributions rather than resorting to trivial matters and criticizing Prime Minister Modi and the BJP.
Narayanaswamy also challenged the Congress’s accusations against the BJP regarding constitutional amendments, citing Prime Minister Modi’s clarification that the constitution cannot be altered. He criticized the Congress for its actions during the Emergency, accusing them of disregarding the constitution. The press conference was attended by Mahendra Kautala, Basavaraja Amminabhavi, Guru Patil, Parasurama Pooja, and others.
