Police Flag Day was observed by the District Police on Tuesday at the police ground, with Somappa Naik, a retired Police Inspector, as the chief guest for the program.
Addressing the gathering, Naik stated that government jobs are akin to God’s work. He mentioned that all government employees should fulfill their duties within a specified timeframe and close their offices. However, police stations remain open round the clock. Despite facing personal challenges, police officers diligently carry out their duties.
HN Mithun, Superintendent of Police Coastal Security Police, highlighted that while this day was previously revered, it is now often viewed as a burden to sell police flags. He stressed the need for a change in this perception, higlighting that funds collected from the sale of police flags serve noble purposes.
K Arun, District Superintendent of Police, along with Additional Superintendent of Police S Siddalingappa and other officers, were also present at the event. Additionally, guests released police flag stamps, and contributions for the Police Welfare Fund were collected. Monetary benefits from the Police Welfare Fund were distributed to the beneficiaries.
