Animators Working On ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ Were Kids When 1st Movie Came Out

Must read

Director Mike Mitchell revealed that many animators working on the upcoming film ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ were children when the first part of the franchise was released. Additionally, the filmmakers have employed action stunt choreographers for the first time to enhance motion capture.

‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ continues Po’s journey as he trains a new warrior upon being chosen as the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace. However, when a powerful shape-shifting sorceress targets his Staff of Wisdom, Po realizes the need for reinforcement. Teaming up with a quick-witted corsac fox, he discovers heroes in unexpected places.

Discussing the eight-year gap between installments, Mitchell remarked, We ensured we had the perfect story to tell. We wanted this to be Jack Black’s evolution as Po, with a new generation of artists joining the project. Some were kids watching the first film and now get to animate ‘Kung Fu Panda’; they were thrilled to work on it.

Regarding the action in ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’, Mitchell stated, We hired action stunt choreographers for the first time. They performed various moves with authentic weapons, allowing animators to observe movements for authenticity. The technology and martial arts have evolved, reflected in the choreography. The film is scheduled for release on March 15.
