In the wake of the corruption and administrative system collapse of Kidwai Memorial Ganthi Hospital, a cancer hospital of the state, the current director Dr. Lokesh Waja has addressed the scandal. The government has issued an order dismissing Lokesh from the post of director.
High fees from patients for the services provided in Kidwai Memorial Ganthi Institute, misuse of grants, corruption, staff of the institute working hand in hand with private organizations causing financial loss to the institute, poor level of treatment to patients, shortage of medicines, and not providing adequate treatment to patients, hence not being in compliance with the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurement Act, are the allegations considered in the issue’s purview.
As a result of the discovery and complaints from the public about the tender given to the specified organization in violation of rules, the Commissioner of the Treasury Department has asked the government to conduct a comprehensive investigation and submit a report. Consequently, a committee was formed under the leadership of Arundhati Chandrasekhar.
