Jordan Stolz Secures Double Gold At Speed Skating World Cup

In a remarkable display of skill, 19-year-old Jordan Stolz from the United States clinched his second and third gold medals at the speed skating World Cup held in Salt Lake City. After setting a new world record in the 1,000m race on Friday, Stolz continued to shine on home soil by achieving a personal best time of one minute and 40.87 seconds in the men’s 1,500m. China’s Ning Zhongyan claimed the silver with a time of 1:41.78, while Wesly Dijs of the Netherlands secured the bronze with a time of 1:42.77. Just two hours later, Stolz secured his third gold in two days with another personal best finish of 33.96 seconds in the men’s 500m. Laurent Dubreuil of Canada finished closely behind for the silver, and the bronze went to Japanese skater Yuma Murakami with a time of 34.16. In the women’s events, Miho Takagi of Japan clinched her second gold in two days by finishing the 1,000m in 1:51.60. Antoinette Rijpma-De Jong and Joy Beune of the Netherlands secured second and third places with times of 1:52.04 and 1:52.23, respectively. The United States dominated the women’s 500m with a 1-2 finish by Erin Jackson and Kimi Goetz, while South Korean Kim Min-sun claimed the third spot. The team pursuit golds in both the men’s and women’s categories were split between the United States and Canada, showcasing the North American teams’ prowess on the ice.
