A case has been registered against seven officials of the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) and the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department in Annapurneswari Nagar police station. The case alleges threats to the life of a first-class contractor, B.K., who had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta and the concerned minister regarding illegal construction activities. The complainant, Mohan Kumar, a resident of Visvesvaraya Barangay in Muddinapally, is a first-class contractor. He had previously lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta and the concerned minister, accusing government officials of engaging in illegal activities. In his private complaint filed in the city’s 5th ACMM court, Mohankumar claimed that he received threats from an unknown person. Subsequently, a case has been registered against the following officials: KRIDL Executive Engineer Praveen Srihari, Assistant Engineers V. Sridhar and Lakshmi Patil, Rural Development Department Director Srinivas H. Marangappa, Retired Officer K. H. Nagaraj, RDPR Joint Secretary Siddesh Potalakatty, Superintending Engineer Yr. Mukkanna Naik. The complaint alleges that these officials were involved in the threats made to Mohan Kumar, urging him to withdraw his complaint filed with the Lokayukta and the concerned minister. The court, upon hearing the complaint, instructed the police to conduct an investigation. An FIR has been registered, and the police are actively pursuing the case.
