Wild Elephant Capturing Operation To Start From Saturday

The operation to capture wild elephant which is being subverted in different parts of the district will start from Saturday.  MLA HK Suresh and forest officials offered puja on Friday and offered sugarcane and jiggery the elephants deployed in the operation and wished the operation success. 

Eight elephants have already arrived from Dubare and Mattigodu camps and have camped near Bikkodu in Belur Taluk. This time the operation will be conducted with a skilled team and all preparations have been made. Abhimanyu, who was carrying a Mysore ambari, also participated in the hunting operation of wild boars. The traps to be captured have already been identified and the operation will be continued for one month from Saturday.

Earlier, from November 24, under the leadership of Captain Arjuna, there was an operation to capture six elephants. 2 females. 3 wild elephants  were captured with radio collars  and shifted elsewhere. But on December 4, Arjuna had a heroic death during a fight with a wild elephant during the forest capture operation. The operation was suspended since then, which is restarted again.
