Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar  said the Yuvanidhi scheme was not meant to fill the pockets of youth but to empower them economically and socially.

Speaking at the launch of Yuvanidhi scheme on Friday, he said, Yuvanidhi will empower youth and will give them the much-needed self-confidence to change their lives. We had promised five guarantees and today we stand in front of you vindicated. We have become a model for the country and we are proud that we kept our word.

God doesn’t give a boon or a curse, He only gives opportunities. Make use of the opportunity to leave behind a legacy, he urged the youth. Quoting the saying Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime, he said the objective of Yuvanidhi is to enable and empower you. This scheme will achieve its objective only when the youth look at generating employment rather than seeking employment, he added.

Kuvempu once said that criticism dies but your work lives on. If you die without any achievement, it is an insult to death and if you live without any ideals, then it is an insult to life. Don’t worry about criticisms in life, focus on your goals and work hard, he called upon the youth.

AICC President and other leaders will participate in the Party workers rally to be held in Mangaluru on January 21. He called upon all party workers and leaders to attend the rally.
