Paryaya Festival, Deputy Commissioner Orders Traffic Diversion On January 17, 18

Deputy commissioner Dr Vidyakumari has issued orders for the diversion of traffic on certain roads and the prohibition of traffic on others in the district to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and public safety during several cultural programs scheduled for January 17 and 18 in view of the Paryaya festival.  

All private buses heading to Udupi and Manipal from Mangaluru from 4 pm on January 17 should avoid Swagatagopura road and proceed via NH66, Karavali junction,  Bannanje,  Shiribeedu, City bus stand,  Airodikar,  Service bus stand, Kidiyoor hotel then proceed via Shiribeedu, City bus stand, Airodi service bus stand, Kidiyoor hotel, Bannanje,Karavali junction and NH 66 to reach Kundapur.

All private buses approaching from Karkala via Manipal from 4 pm on January 17 should reach Indrali, Kadiyali, City bus stand, then turn from there via Kalsanka, Indrali towards Manipal and Karkala.

Booking agents and bus company staff should not enter city at night on January 17 and should make passengers board and deboard at Karavali junction.Traffic and parking are banned from 6 pm on January 17 until 6 am on January 18 on Swagata Gopura, Kinnimulki, Govinda Kalyana Mantapa, Jodukatte, T M A Pai Hospital, Lions Circle, old Diana Circle, Mitra Junction, Thenkapete, Car Street Road, and the adjoining areas. Parking is prohibited on both sides from Kalsanka junction to Vidyodaya school.
