In a deeply unfortunate incident in Savya, under the Venur police station limits, a 36-year-old man named Prashant Poojary lost his life while engaged in cutting a tree branch. The incident occurred on the morning of December 19. Prashant, a resident of Hosamane in Savya, suffered a fatal accident when he lost balance during the tree-cutting activity. In the fall, the teeth of the electric hacksaw became lodged in his throat, leading to a severe neck injury. Promptly, Prashant was rushed to Alvas Hospital and later transferred to Mangaluru for advanced medical treatment. Despite the efforts made to save him, he passed away on the morning of December 20.Prashant, who was unmarried, had recently sought an alliance with a girl from Ekkaru, with the marriage scheduled for March 2024. He was the second son of a financially struggling family, survived by his parents, sister, and two brothers. The tragic incident has left the community in shock and mourning.
