Shivamogga MP B Y Raghavendra recently held discussions with Union Tourism Minister Kishen Reddy, emphasizing the need for development in the Byndoor region. Byndoor falls under the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency and boasts several noteworthy tourist attractions, including the Sri Kollur Mookambika temple, Mookambika reserve forest, Kodachadri hills, Someshwara, Trasi, and Maravanthe beaches. During the meeting, MP Raghavendra highlighted the significance of Byndoor as a potential tourism hub and requested a financial allocation of Rs 14 crore for the development of the Mookambika railway station. This request was made under the Help to Central Agencies to Develop Fundamental Infrastructure of Tourism Centres scheme. Minister Kishen Reddy responded positively to MP Raghavendra’s appeal, assuring that necessary actions would be taken based on the provided information. The development of Byndoor’s tourism infrastructure is expected to enhance the region’s appeal and accessibility for visitors.
