Kempegowda International Airport, Kannada Logo Launched

Following the instruction of Kannada Development Authority, the authorities of Kempegowda International Airport have used Kannada in the logo of the Airport.

The logo of Kempegowda International Station was entirely in English. On coming to his notice, Kannada and Culture Minister Shivraj Thangadagi had instructed the authority to write a letter to the airport authorities.

Accordingly, Kannada Development Authority Secretary Dr. Santosh Hanagal wrote a letter to the Managing Director of the Airport, saying that the logo of the Airport is in English and the Kannada language has been neglected. All the organisations operating in Karnataka have a primary responsibility to respect the language culture here. He suggested that steps should be taken to adopt the Kannada language in the logo immediately. As the Secretary of the Authority received the letter, the officials were alerted that they have used Kannada language in their logo. Airport Officer  Dinesh Kumar, who has also written a letter to the authority, said Kannada language development for the survival of the culture here.

  Kannada language will be mostly used in any of our future programs and correspondence. Also, all the signboards of the station will be used in Kannada, the letter mentioned that Kannada will also be used on social media.

Commenting on this, Shivaraj Thangadagi, Minister of Kannada and Culture Department, said that Kannada is the sovereign language in Karnataka. The state government is providing land, water, electricity etc. facilities to the organizations operating in the state, and everyone should join hands for the development of the local language. The government is committed to the protection of language, land and water. The behavior of Airport officials who used Kannada at the airport should be an example for all, he said.
