Bagalkot

Former Minister Govind Karjol has lashed out at the Siddaramaiah government for making false promises to the people, making false declarations and approving eight projects in the Belagavi session.

Speaking to the media, he said, Siddaramaiah in the House has said that farmers’ loans have been waived off. But there is no question of waiving. We are giving loans at zero interest rate. In Bagalkot district, 2.58 lakh farmers are being given Rs 950 crore by DCC Bank. When Yediyurappa and Bommai were chief ministers, we gave loans up to Rs 3 lakh. The idea was to give an interest-free loan of up to Rs 5 lakh. But the present government is playing with the people, he said.

In 2024-25, Rs 5,000 crore will be given for the development of Kalyana Karnataka. It is enough to release the funds announced in this year’s budget and develop it. However, not a single paisa has been released so far. No development work has been done. This is siddaramaiah’s false promise. HK Patil said the tourist destination would also be developed. But he too has learnt to lie like Siddaramaiah, he said.

We will do other development works, including industrial projects, in North Karnataka. But due to the 10 per cent increase in power tariff for the industry, the industry is shutting down. People are turning to other work. The government is trying to put ghee on the nose, he said.He has said that he will take a delegation to resolve the issue of upper Krishna project. There is already a dispute in the Supreme Court and the final verdict was to be delivered on December 4. The Supreme Court verdict will come in our favour, he said.
