BJP Protests Deteriorating Law And Order In Karnataka Following Vantamuri Incident

BJP leaders, including former Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda, staged a protest in Bengaluru, condemning the recent Vantamuri incident where a woman was paraded naked. The leaders alleged that the law and order situation in Karnataka has deteriorated, citing the Vantamuri incident as an example. The incident in Vantamuri involved a 42-year-old woman who was publicly thrashed and paraded naked after her 24-year-old son eloped with a girl from the same village. The BJP leaders expressed concerns over the safety and security of women in the state and criticized the government for its failure in maintaining law and order. We staged an agitation over the law and order situation in the state. There is no safety and security for women in the state. A woman was paraded naked for two hours. The state government has failed, said DV Sadananda Gowda. The police detained the protesting BJP leaders, including members of the BJP Mahila Morcha, and transported them away in buses amid slogans expressing discontent with the government’s handling of the situation. The BJP has been actively addressing the Vantamuri incident, with a fact-finding committee set up by party president JP Nadda visiting the victim at a hospital in Belagavi.
