I have not attended the Congress Legislature Party meeting. I had gone only to a dinner hosted by Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, BJP MLA ST Somashekar said. I was with Vijayendra from 8 am to 10 pm on Wednesday, he said, referring to his attendance at the Congress Legislature Party meeting. Our party president Vijayendra had a dinner. I attended his dinner and ate. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had also invited me. So, I went to the dinner hosted by DK Shivakumar at 11 am and wished him, he said.

On contesting the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket, he said, I will not contest any Lok Sabha election. There is pressure to contest in Mysuru. I want to be re-elected as an MLA in 2028. I will not do anything that will embarrass the BJP. But a section is trying to send me away. He has been trying hard for two years. I also went to the BJP legislature party meeting the other day, he said.

Opposition leader R Ashoka responded by saying that he had invited him for lunch. We had gone there for that, ST Somashekar told us. He has not violated any discipline of the party. I have also spoken to him. He also participated in a dharna organised by the BJP on Wednesday. Whatever else, we will hold talks, he said.
