No Entry Into Gopalaswamy Hill For 3 Days

Vehicular traffic has been banned for three days from December 18 to 20 for asphalting the road to Himavad Gopalaswamy Hill, a famous religious place in Gundlupet taluk. The road leading to the temple from the foot of Gopalaswamy Hill was in a bad shape, causing severe disruption to vehicular traffic. There were also widespread complaints from tourists and travellers in this regard. The Public Works Department   has now decided to repair the road and asphalt 11.20 km of the road.

Five KSRTC buses were released daily from the foothills of Gopala Hills. More than 20 buses plied on weekends and special days. In addition, 4-5 jeeps were also released by the forest department. Now, all vehicles have been banned for the purpose of asphalting the road. Tahsildar T Ramesh Babu said that devotees and tourists going to Gopalaswamy Hill should cooperate in view of the restrictions imposed on the hill for three days from December 18 to 20. Himavad Gopalaswamy Hill is an ever-snow-covered hill and is a weekend hotspot. Thousands of tourists from Bengaluru, Kerala and Tamil Nadu visit the state to see the greenery and snow.
