Proposal For Upgradation Of New Taluk Hospital, Minister Dinesh Gundurao

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundurao said that a proposal will be submitted to the Chief Minister to upgrade the hospitals of the new taluk centers announced in the state.

He answered the questions of MLAs during the question and answer session of the Legislature in Belgaum winter session on Thursday.

Most of the hospitals in the newly declared taluk centers have not been upgraded to taluk hospitals. Along with this, 160 Primary Health Centers in the state are also eligible to be upgraded to Community Health Centres. He said that in response to the demands of the MLAs, the upgradation work will be done step by step, keeping in view the financial availability.

Responding to the request of MLA K Karemma, Health Minister Dinesh Gundurao promised to provide funds for the construction of a new mother and child hospital in Devadurga town in next year’s budget. Along with this, Gabbur also agreed to upgrade Primary Health Center to Community Health Center.

Meanwhile, Minister Dinesh Gundurao, answering the question of Teerthahalli MLA Araga Gyanendra, said that 35 lakhs grant has already been released for the construction of Teerthahalli Government Ayurvedic Hospital. He said that he would give more grants as per the requirement.

MLA CS Nadgowda said that  Talikote is a taluk center for 7 years. Even now,  the Hospital has not been upgraded as Taluk Health Centre. He asked the minister to immediately build a 30-bed well-equipped hospital in Talikote city. Responding to this, Minister Dinesh Gundurao promised to upgrade the Talikote hospital.
