The South Western Railway (SWR) has suspended some trains between Mangaluru and Bengaluru from December 14 to 22 as the work has been taken up at Hassan Junction railway station. Railway officials of Palakkad division said in a statement that the trains have been temporarily cancelled due to emergency maintenance work being carried out on the way.
Train No. 16511 Bengaluru-Kannur and Train No. 16595 Bengaluru-Karwar Panchaganga Express have been cancelled from December 16 to 20. Train No. 16512 Kannur-Bengaluru and Train No. 16596 Karwar-Bengaluru Panchaganga Express will be cancelled from December 17 to 21. Train No. 16575 Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Junction Gommateshwara Express which runs thrice a week, will also not run on December 14, 17, 19 and 20. Train No. 16576 Mangaluru Junction-Yeshwantpur Gomateshwara Express will not run on December 15, 18, 20 and 22.
Train No. 16515 Yeshwantpur-Karwar Express will run thrice a week. There will be no movement of Train No. 16516 Karwar-Yeshwantpur Express on 14th, 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd. Train No. 16539/16540 Yeshwantpur-Mangaluru Junction Express will run once a week, there will be no movement on December 16th and 17th.
Train No. 16585/16586 Bengaluru-Murudeshwara-Bengaluru will run on alternate routes Yeshwantpur bypass, Nelamangala, Shravanabelagola, Hassan. Bengaluru City, Mandya and Mysuru stations will not be operated from December 14 to 16. The train will run via Yeshwantpur Bypass, Hassan from June 17 to 22 and will not connect Mysuru. Railway officials have asked passengers to take alternative transport after looking at the list of cancelled trains.
