Former India pacer S Sreesanth has received a legal notice from the Legends League Cricket (LLC) commissioner following his public comments against Gautam Gambhir. The dispute arose from an on-field altercation between the two players during an Eliminator match between Indian Capitals and Gujarat Giants in the ongoing LLC 2023 tournament. The LLC commissioner’s notice alleges that Sreesanth breached his contract during the T20 tournament by publicly criticizing Gambhir. According to reports, talks with Sreesanth will only commence after he removes the videos criticizing the player within the league’s purview. The incident occurred during the LLC Season 2 Eliminator match when Gambhir and Sreesanth engaged in a heated exchange, requiring umpire intervention to maintain decorum. The following day, Sreesanth went live on Instagram, accusing Gambhir of using offensive language and labeling him a ‘fixer’ in reference to the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal. In response to the incident, LLC issued a statement announcing an internal investigation into the code of conduct violation. The league emphasized its commitment to maintaining a focus on the cricketing aspects and delegated the handling of the investigation and subsequent actions to the ASCU and Code of Conduct & Ethics Committee.
