Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was raking up the caste census issues due to fast approaching Lok sabha elections, said former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Talking to media after the inauguration of the new office of the newly elected Leader of the Opposition R Ashok’s office at Vidhana Soudha here on Thursday, he accused Siddaramaiah of creating a big mess of the caste census since from the beginning. Initially, he termed the census as the caste census and later branded it as the socio-economic survey. In the government order it had been mentioned as the socio-academic report.
Bommai said the survey had not been done properly by the Backward Classes Commission due to lack of consensus between the chairman and the members. Besides, there was political interference. The then Chief Minister Siddaramaiah kept quiet despite all these happening. At that time he did not receive the report but now trying to take the political mileage as the parliamentary polls are fast approaching. The BJP would announce its stand on the report after the report was submitted to the government.
