The Tennis Premier League (TPL) has introduced a groundbreaking mobile app to enhance and support the tennis ecosystem in India. This innovative venture aims to connect the tennis community across the country, facilitating interaction among players and enabling them to track their progress. The TPL App, launched earlier this year, has become a one-stop solution for the tennis fraternity in India. It is instrumental in organizing grassroots tournaments, with over 100 academies associated with the app. The league plans to conduct more than 600 grassroots tournaments in the near future, creating opportunities for players to compete and progress in the tennis rankings. Key features of the TPL App include connecting players, tracking progress, and acting as an aggregator for tennis products, helping players find quality equipment at fair prices. The app also addresses the challenge of sponsorship for tennis players in India, providing a platform for private sponsors to access comprehensive portfolios and databases of players, aiding informed investment decisions. Anil Dhupar, Secretary General of the All India Tennis Association (AITA), commended the TPL App’s efforts, emphasizing its potential to bring together tennis players of all age groups. He highlighted that the app’s initiatives would contribute to the popularity of tennis, making it a core sport in the country. Furthermore, the app enables aspiring players to book masterclasses and training sessions with elite players, fostering skill development and providing valuable guidance for the next generation of tennis talent in India. This innovative approach not only supports players in their professional journeys but also generates revenue for professional players and coaches. The TPL App represents a holistic solution to bolstering tennis in India, creating a unified platform for players, coaches, and sponsors to contribute to the growth and development of the sport.
