In a significant achievement for Indian motorsports, 15-year-old rider Rakshith Srihari Dave from Chennai is poised to represent India at the prestigious Asia Talent Cup 2024. The selection event, held at the iconic Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, witnessed 89 riders vying for a coveted spot, and Rakshith Dave emerged as one of the 11 riders selected from different Asia-Oceana countries. Demonstrating exceptional skills and determination, Rakshith Dave earned his place in the Asia Talent Cup 2024, showcasing his promise in the highly competitive world of motorcycle racing. The final selection included 41 riders who stood out for their outstanding performance. The Asia Talent Cup 2024 will feature 20 full-time riders from ten countries: Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Rakshith Dave, who started his professional racing career in 2019 in the CBR150R category, has consistently shown prowess, securing notable positions in various competitions. Identified at the Idemitsu Honda India Talent Hunt program in 2018, Rakshith trained under the Honda Racing Academy, progressing to the NSF 250R category in 2022. He expressed his excitement about fulfilling his dream and thanked Honda Racing India for the opportunity to represent the Indian team on the global stage. As the solo Indian rider, I will give my best to bring laurels to our team and country, said Rakshith, emphasizing his focus on enhancing skills and understanding the capabilities of the NSF250R machine. Yogesh Mathur, Director, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, congratulated Rakshith on this achievement, noting that he is the third rider from Honda Racing India to earn recognition in the Asia Talent Cup since 2019. The achievement reflects Rakshith Dave’s strong determination and zeal in the field of motorcycle racing.
