A shocking revelation by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police uncovered a prostitution network operated from within a Bengaluru jail, targeting young individuals and entrepreneurs in the Silicon City. Despite being incarcerated, a notorious pimp managed to continue his illicit activities through the Locanto app, primarily preying on girls from outside the state seeking employment. The arrested pimp, initially apprehended in Suddaguntepalya for running a prostitution ring, exploited social media to identify and lure vulnerable girls. Setting up rented accommodations, he coerced them into the sex trade, ruining the lives of numerous victims. Additionally, he employed young men to assist and monitor the women. Even behind bars, the pimp utilized the Locanto app to solicit customers, engaging in WhatsApp calls to discuss terms and conditions. Transactions were facilitated through Google Pay, with the pimp directing clients to the girls’ locations, determining payments based on age, appearance, and duration of services. The illegal operation persisted in a rented house near Hulimavu. Assisted by individuals identified as Arun@Hotte, Rajesh@Raju, Raghavendra, and Darshan, the incarcerated pimp orchestrated the prostitution ring. A complaint has been registered at the Hulimavu Police Station by the CCB, which is currently interrogating the accomplices. A body warrant will be obtained to question the main accused, ensuring a comprehensive investigation into this alarming case of criminal activity thriving even within the confines of a prison cell.
