Over 500 Special Buses To Be Operated For Deepavali

The North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) has arranged more than 500 special buses for the convenience of passengers coming from various places in the state and outside the state for the festival of lights.

November 11   is the weekend, on November 12   is Naraka Chaturdashi, on November 13 it is Amavasya, Lakshmi Puja is on Monday and on March 14 is Balipadyami. People from different parts of the state and neighbouring states, including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Goa, Pune in Maharashtra, are expected to come to their native places in large numbers to celebrate the festival on Friday  and Saturday.

Additional buses have been arranged from Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Pune, Goa and other places to Hubli, Dharwad, Gadag, Belagavi, Chikkodi, Uttara Kannada, Haveri, Bagalkot and other important places on November 10 and 11.

For this, more than 50 additional buses, including 200 reputed luxury buses like Multi-Axle Volvo, Sleeper, Rajahamsa, and 250 express transport, are planned to be operated. Additional buses will also be operated from local bus stands to the district and neighbouring districts depending on the passenger traffic. Similarly, from November 15 to 19, more than 250 special buses will be operated from major bus stands under the corporation limits to major destinations in the state including Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Goa, Pune in Maharashtra and other places depending on the passenger traffic.

In a statement, the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) said that it is advisable to make advance bookings immediately to avoid last-minute traffic.
