The Andhra Pradesh High Court has reserved its orders on the interim bail petition of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) case. The court is expected to announce its decision on Tuesday and will also determine the date for the main bail petition hearing. Chandrababu Naidu had approached the High Court after the Vijayawada ACB Court rejected his bail petition. Subsequently, his counsel filed an interim bail petition due to his health condition. Naidu’s legal team filed a house motion petition on October 26, seeking an urgent hearing of the bail petition as he required cataract surgery on his right eye. The case was initially assigned to Justice Venkata Jyothirmai Pratapa, who recused herself. The petition was then referred to another bench. During the hearing, D. Srinivas represented Naidu, and senior lawyer Siddharth Luthra presented arguments virtually. Additional Advocate General P. Sudhakar Reddy argued on behalf of the government. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the CID on September 9 in connection with the Skill Development scam, which allegedly occurred during his tenure as Chief Minister. He has been in judicial custody and is currently held at Rajahmundry Central Jail. The Vijayawada ACB court had dismissed his bail petition on October 9, prompting Naidu to challenge the decision in the High Court. The court is expected to announce the date for the main bail petition hearing on Tuesday.
