Air India, a Tata-owned airline, has announced the extension of its partnership with Amadeus to provide local domestic content for travel sellers in India through the Amadeus Travel Platform. As part of the agreement, Air India’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) content will be integrated into the Amadeus Travel Platform, making it accessible to travel sellers in 2024. This collaboration is expected to enhance the travel booking experience for customers and offer the travel industry greater choice, flexibility, and retailing options. By leveraging NDC technology, Air India can provide travelers with richer content and improved upselling of its branded and ancillary products. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India, emphasized the airline’s commitment to enhancing the travel experience by introducing new technology, expanding its global route network, and showcasing its products on a global scale. He expressed delight at expanding the scope of the partnership with Amadeus. Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President of the Travel Unit and Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Amadeus, praised the strengthened partnership and the ability to distribute Air India’s complete offering to a broad community of travel sellers worldwide. He highlighted the importance of the Indian market and expressed Amadeus’ enthusiasm for continued collaboration with the nation’s flag carrier. This partnership extension reflects Air India’s dedication to delivering an enhanced and comprehensive travel booking experience for its customers, and it reinforces Amadeus’ commitment to the Indian market.
