Bantwal
In a heart-wrenching incident, a young man took his own life by hanging himself due to a failed love affair in Kamaje, under the jurisdiction of the Bantwal City police station. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Sachin, a resident of Nelligudde in Kadeshivalaya. Sachin was employed as an electrician at Levin Electricals in Bantwal. On October 18, he did not return home, prompting his family to begin a search for him. Calls to his mobile phone went unanswered, and his family also reached out to their relatives for information. After an extensive search, Sachin’s scooter was discovered parked near a field in Mittakodi, B Mooda village, around 3 am on October 19. Tragically, Sachin was not found near the scooter. Upon calling his mobile phone, the ringtone could be heard from the vicinity, leading to the devastating discovery of Sachin hanging lifeless from a tree. A suicide note was discovered in Sachin’s pocket, in which he expressed that he was taking this extreme step due to his distress over a failed love affair. The body was later subjected to a post-mortem examination. Inspector Ananta Padmanabha and Sub-Inspector Ramakrishna of the City police station visited the scene, and a case has been registered.
