Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs KH Muniyappa congratulated C Narayanaswamy as the Chairman of the 5th Finance Commission on Thursday.
Speaking later, the Minister said that it is good that C Narayanaswamy, who has a lot of experience in how Panchayat Raj programmes should be implemented in India, has been selected for this post.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also congratulated C Narayanaswamy. Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister HK Patil, Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, Commission members RS Ponde, Mohammad Sanaullah, Secretaries Ujwal Kumar Shosh were present in the programme.
