Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda And ISRO’s Somnath Conferred Honorary Doctorates By Governor

In a momentous ceremony held at Bangalore University’s 58th convocation,  Governor   Thaawarchand Gehlot bestowed honorary doctorates upon distinguished personalities, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and eminent Scientist and ISRO Chairman,  Somnath.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Gehlot expressed his delight at the University’s decision to honor Shri Deve Gowda, a stalwart of Indian politics, whose invaluable contributions to education, literature, and social affairs have significantly advanced the nation’s progress. 

Governor Gehlot underscored the pivotal role of Karnataka as a trailblazer in education, information, and technology within the nation. He lauded Bangalore University’s pivotal position in this landscape, recognizing its A++ grade accreditation by NAAC in 2023.

Furthermore, Governor Gehlot urged students to embark on the path of entrepreneurship, envisioning them as future leaders and job creators rather than job seekers. He highlighted the crucial role of education in equipping the youth with technical acumen and emphasized their role in driving initiatives like “Make in India,” “Digital India,” and various venture capital schemes.

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Higher Education Minister Dr. MC Sudhakar, Co-founder of Zarodha Nikhil Kamath and Vice Chancellor Dr.  SM Jayakar participated.
