In the wake of the tragic firecracker disaster in Attibele that claimed the lives of 16 individuals, the police in Echcheta district conducted raids on two separate locations and seized illegally stored firecrackers with an estimated value of ₹24.90 lakh. In the first raid, Nagaraj K, who had rented a house from Satyanarayan Shetty in Gunjalli Camp, Turvihal police station area, was taken into custody. The police seized 1,141 kg of firecrackers with a value of ₹24,40,043. Another operation occurred at Ramesh Jebanna’s residence near Geetha Mandir in the Basethwara town within the Sadar Bazar police station area of Raichur city. During this operation, the police confiscated 30 kg of firecrackers valued at ₹50,000. Ramesh Jebanna was also taken into custody and subjected to further questioning.
