Must read

In a pioneering move to cater to the unique transportation needs of professional women in Bangalore, the women’s advocacy group Ander Cherona has introduced the city’s inaugural interactive mobile bus station. This groundbreaking initiative seeks to bridge the connectivity gap within Bangalore’s commuter bus network, all while highlighting the informal sector’s ability to address the distinct transportation requirements of women.

The innovative Mobile Bus Station will be operational in four designated areas across Bangalore throughout the month of October. Commencing its journey behind Baiyappanahalli Metro Station in Hosnagar, the station will subsequently travel to Seegahalli and Priyanka Nagar from October 5 to 7. Next on its route is the Santhe area, where it will operate from October 16 to 18, followed by Bairasandra from October 20 to 21.

This mobile initiative represents a powerful stride towards empowering and facilitating the daily commutes of professional women in Bangalore. By offering a tailored and convenient transportation solution designed to meet their specific needs, the mobile bus station aims to enhance urban mobility while addressing modern urban challenges. It also stands as a testament to the informal sector’s potential to play a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity, accessibility, and the empowerment of all commuters in the city.

As the mobile bus station embarks on its journey, it is poised to revolutionize urban transportation for professional women in Bangalore and potentially serve as a model for other cities seeking to enhance gender-inclusive mobility solutions.
