2 judicial officers appointed as judges of Patna HC

On Tuesday, the Ministry of Law and Justice officially announced the appointment of judicial officers Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh and Ashok Kumar Pandey as judges of the Patna High Court. The notification emphasized that these appointments were made under the Constitution of India, with the President consulting the Chief Justice of India to ensure a proper process.

The SC Collegium, which includes Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Sanjiv Khanna, and Justice BR Gavai, recommended the appointments on September 24. The Collegium also indicated that their seniority would follow current practices, highlighting its commitment to selecting qualified candidates to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the judiciary.
