Ola and Uber Association President, Tanveer, conveyed their stance, stating that they would not endorse the bandh on Tuesday. However, he emphasized that they are extending their complete support to the bandh scheduled for September 29. Bengaluru witnesses more than one lakh Ola and Uber autos in operation daily, along with 48 thousand taxis and an additional three thousand small vehicles. Despite the bandh call for Tuesday, these ride-hailing services have opted to continue their operations as usual. The move to abstain from participating in the bandh on Tuesday highlights the association’s commitment to ensuring uninterrupted transportation services for the city’s residents. In a noteworthy move, the Chamber has extended its support to the Bengaluru Bandh scheduled for tomorrow, with cinema theaters across the city set to remain closed from 6 am to 6 pm. NM, President of the Karnataka Film Chamber, expressed the Chamber’s unwavering support for the cause, highlighting the seriousness of the Cauvery protest. He emphasized the need for discussions among all affiliated organizations within the film industry and urged meetings with artists to deliberate on the matter.

Namma Metro To Operate As Usual

While the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has stated that its buses will commence operations based on the evolving situation, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has confirmed that there will be no changes to metro services on Tuesday. BMRCL officials have made it clear that the metro service will operate as usual, with no alterations planned at this time. However, they also mentioned that any decisions regarding metro traffic will be made in response to the prevailing situation. Several organizations have decided to intensify their protests against the Cauvery water issue by calling for a bandh in Bangalore on September 26. Notably, various groups, including auto-rickshaw drivers, Ola, Uber, and private bus owners’ associations, initially supported the bandh.
