Karnataka State SC-ST Press Editors Association General Secretary Somasekhara Keragodu said that B Rachaiah Endowment Award for the year 2023 will be awarded to Aminmattu, who is working tirelessly on behalf of Dalit-oppressed people, has increased the dignity of the association.
The annual award ceremony will be held at Gandhi Bhavan on September 13 along with Dr BR Ambedkar Jayanthi.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the ceremony, Social Welfare Minister Dr. HC Mahadevappa, Agriculture Minister N Cheluvarayaswamy will present the award.
Senior journalist Dinesh Aminmattu will be awarded the state level late B Rachaiah endowment award and annual awards will be given to senior editors Malappa Adasare, C Muniyappa, DN Mailarappa.
SC-ST Welfare House Committee Chairman PM Narendraswamy, Chief Minister’s Media Adviser KV Prabhakar, MLA AR Krishnamurthy, Information and Public Relations Department Principal Secretary Jayaram, Karnataka Working Journalists Association President Shivananda Tagaduru, Information and Public Relations Department Commissioner Hemantha Nimbalkar, Asian Media Cultural Association Indian convener HB Madanagowda, Dalit Karnataka Sangharsa Samiti Convener Mavalli Shankar will participate.
On the same occasion, former Chairman of the SC-ST Tribal Commission, Nehru Olekar, Government SCP/TSP Scheme Advisor E Venkataiah, Karnataka Media Academy awardees Somasekhara Keragodu, Sachendra Y Lambu and Kannada Sahitya Parishat Siddalingaiah Endowment Awardee Nagarajahettur will be felicitated.
