Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced compensation of Rs 1 lakh each for the families of the seven women who tragically lost their lives in a road accident at Tirupattur earlier in the morning. The victims, all residents of Perambut in the Vellore district, were on a pilgrimage to Karnataka when their van was struck by a truck, resulting in their immediate demise. Additionally, ten other individuals, including the van’s driver, sustained injuries in the accident and were subsequently admitted to Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital. The injured parties will receive Rs 50,000 each in compensation. The deceased victims were identified as follows: M. Meena (50), D. Devyani (32), P. Saittu (52), S. Devika (51), V. Savitri (42), K. Kalavathi (50), and R. Geetha (35).
