Man Arrested For Stealing Gold Chain From Former MP’s House

In a shocking incident, an unidentified person came to the house of a former MP in broad daylight at Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district and snatched a gold chain and fled from the spot. Sirsi Market Police have succeeded in arresting the accused who had escaped after stealing the chain in connection with the case.

The accused has been identified as Parashuram Sannamani, a native of Hanagal. The police have recovered a gold chain weighing 37 grams worth Rs 1.85 lakh and bike valued at Rs 15,000 from him.

A case of theft was registered at the house of four-time Congress MP Devaraj Naik. The former MP’s wife Geetha Naik was alone at her house at Yellapur Naka in Sirsi city when an unidentified person snatched the chain from her neck on the pretext of asking for water.
