Heavy rains began on Wednesday evening and continued into Thursday, resulting in flooding across the city. Many low-lying areas were submerged, and major roads became impassable. Flooding has cut off 12 villages in Tuppari and Buttery Halla, while the Indiramma Lake has overflowed.

Since Wednesday night, rain has fallen heavily. Water entered several homes in Panchakshari Nagar, Navnagar, and low-lying areas in Ganesh Colony, Anandnagar, Shimlanagar, PB Road, Dajibanpet, Vidyanagar, and other parts of Old Hubli. Traffic congestion was reported at Srinagar Cross and other locations along the BRTS bus route. In Ramnagar and Ashoka Nagar, two trees were uprooted.

In the Navlagunda taluk, water has flooded the village of Tuppari Halla, leading to significant losses of food grains and electronic equipment. The Kusugal-Ingalahalli road in Hubli taluk has been cut off due to the rains.

It was observed that water was being blocked repeatedly, causing ongoing flooding during heavy rain. Residents have been affected greatly by the flooding. The Indiramma Lake in Alnavara taluk is overflowing, and people have been seen crossing the flooded area, risking their safety.
