60-year-old man drowns after wedding celebration

A 60-year-old man named Shekhar has drowned in an incident reported in the Shankaranarayana Police Station limits. According to a complaint filed by his son Prashanth, Shekhar attended a wedding at Ranganatha Sabha Bhavan in Siddapura with his wife, Lalitha, and a relative.

After the event, Shekhar left without informing anyone. His family assumed he had gone home, but upon their return, they discovered he was missing. Despite searching for him, they could not locate him. During their search, they found a body floating in the Kodgi River in Ajri village. With the assistance of swimmer Manjunath, the body was retrieved and identified as Shekhar.It is believed that after the wedding, Shekhar was returning home via Ampar. While attempting to cross the river near his house, he was caught off guard by the heavy rain and strong winds, which had raised the water level. Tragically, he was swept away by the current and drowned. A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana Police Station.
