Emphasis on overall development of Mysuru in the budget: Minister ST Somashekhar

 The budget presented by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai emphasized the overall of Mysuru, said ST Somashekhar, Minister of Co-operative and in-charge district minister. .

Responding about the budget, he said that KR Hospital will be refurbished at a cost of Rs 89 crore in three years.   Hostels will be opened by the Department of Women and Child Welfare for working women. In the budget, it has been announced that Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Minority Women will be given priority, he said.

  A new multi-storied dormitory with a capacity of 1 thousand will be built under the new scheme “Deendayal Upadhyaya Friendly Student Hostel”   to promote higher education among Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward, Minorities and Other Classes, he said.

The detailed project report for construction of 460 km Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysuru High speed rail corridor. The state government will join hands with the central government for implementation of the project. The runway of the Mysore airport will also be extended with the help of the central government, he said.

Emphasis has been placed on promoting start-ups in the district. 30 crore at the Karnataka State Open University. The Global Technology Center plug and play facility will be installed over a period of 2 years at a project cost of Rs 30 crore.  For this, Rs 10 crore has been provided in the current budget, he said.

AR / VR fragments of 15 tourist destinations in the state at a cost of Rs 15 crore is intended.  The pieces of the Mysore Palace will originally be preserved.  The Mysore-Srirangapatna-Hassan-Belur-Halebidu Tourist Circle is intended to be developed in a public-private partnership to promote tourism, the minister said.

The District incharge minister ST Somashekar inaugurated the mega job air at Karnatala Open University.  Higher education minister Dr Ashwathnarayana, MLAs Ramadas, Nagendra, Mayor Sunanda Palanetra, MUDA President HV Rajiv and others participated.
