Three Persons Tied To A Pole And Attacked By Villagers Suspecting As Thieves, Case Registered

The menace of thieves has increased in the educational district. However, an incident has come to light in which three youths were tied to an electric pole and beaten up by the villagers, mistaking them for thieves. Three youths were tied to a pole and beaten up at Jodakurali village in Chikkodi taluk, thinking they were thieves. Four youths had come to Jodakurali village early in the Wednesday morning. When the youths were being questioned who they were, one of them ran away without informing them properly.

Seeing this, the villagers caught hold of the three and tied them to a pole and assaulted them. They were beaten with sticks, kicked in the face with their feet and beaten up. Chikkodi Police rushed to the spot after receiving the news. The three youths were later rescued and released. The three youths are from Kempatti village in Rayabaga taluk. A case has been registered at Chikkodi Police station against more than 10 people for assaulting the youths and the Police are taking further action.
