Prem Kumar Gowda of BJP Yuva Morcha demanded that Shikaripura taluk to be immediately declared as a drought-prone taluk. He was speaking in the news conference at Shikaripura. He urged MESCOM to provide electricity for seven hours of the old model. In the month of June, the rainfall should be 146 mm, but it is only 33 mm. Explaining the lack of rain every month, the farmer is in another trouble. He demanded that should be given interim crop insurance relief along with an order to supply electricity for seven hours as per the old system.
He said counter attack will be launched against MESCOM and the Government under the leadership of MLAs and MPs on Saturday. Leaders Jagadish, Suresh and others were present.
