The Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DLT) is taking a groundbreaking step towards addressing the traffic challenges in the capital by harnessing Japanese technology. The introduction of the Management of Origin Destination Related Adaptation for Traffic Optimization (Moderate) system is set to mark a significant milestone in traffic management within the country. This pioneering Japanese technology aims to minimize unnecessary waiting times at major junctions. The Moderato system, rooted in Japanese expertise, is making its debut across 28 junctions along the city’s three main thoroughfares. With this implementation, traffic signals will operate automatically, streamlining the flow of vehicles. Moreover, the system is designed to swiftly accommodate emergency vehicles, ensuring swift access during critical situations. The esteemed Nagoya Electric Works Company from Japan has been entrusted with the execution of this project. By introducing such innovative solutions, the DLT is paving the way for enhanced traffic management and a more efficient urban mobility experience. This marks a significant leap forward in the field of traffic optimization, setting an example for effective and technology-driven transportation management on a larger scale.
