Wild animal menace: MLA seeks fencing, quick compensation

Bidar South MLA Dr Shailendra Beldale has urged Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy to take immediate steps to control the increasing movement of wild animals in villages across the constituency and ensure speedy compensation for farmers whose crops and livestock have been damaged.

The MLA submitted a memorandum to the Forest Minister during his visit to Bidar. He said several stretches of the Amalapur-Mannalli road and the road from the entrance of Bellur village towards Kamthana pass through dense forest areas. The movement of wild boars, deer, blackbuck, monkeys and other wild animals has increased in these areas in recent days.

Beldale said the Forest Department to construct strong and suitable wire fencing on both sides of forest stretches along the Amalapur-Mannalli and Bellur-Kamthana roads.

The MLA also asked forest officials to conduct field inspections and identify locations where animal movement is frequent. Regular patrolling, warning systems and other preventive measures should be introduced to ensure public safety and smooth traffic movement. Proper fencing, he said, would help prevent wild animals from entering roads while also supporting their protection.

Beldale further pointed out that wild animals have been entering agricultural fields in several villages of Bidar South, damaging standing crops and causing financial losses to farmers. Livestock have also reportedly been affected, creating concern among rural communities.

He urged the Forest Department to speed up the process of assessing damage and release government compensation to farmers and livestock owners who have already suffered losses. The MLA stressed that the issue should be treated as a priority in the interest of both farmers and the public.

Humnabad MLA Siddu Patil, Bidar Mandal president Gurunath Rajgire, Suresh Mashetti, Chandrayya Swamy, Sanjukumar Koli, Santosh Reddy and others were present.
