SLUG- Jaipur School Inspection Clash
Jaipur
A school inspection attempt by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district triggered a political controversy after party members alleged, they were attacked during the visit. The incident took place in Kanvarpura village under the Bagru Assembly constituency, where the CJP delegation had gone to inspect a government school
The party alleged that the school had been operating from a buffalo shed for years. Videos shared by CJP showed a confrontation between its members and a group of men near the village. The party also alleged that stones were thrown at their vehicle, damaging its rear windshield, while around 40 members were reportedly injured and taken to a Jaipur hospital.
CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka alleged that the attack was carried out at the direction of Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar. He criticised the government and said the party would continue its campaign to improve schools.
“BJP goons have once again resorted to violence against our team,” Ranka said, alleging that the BJP was opposed to efforts to improve government schools. He added, “The school will be fixed, one way or another
The allegations triggered a political response from the BJP and Rajasthan government. BJP MLA Gopal Sharma mocked the CJP, while Junior Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham alleged that Congress supporters were operating behind the party’s banner. Social Justice Minister Avinash Gehlot described the group as “a party of anarchic elements.”
Education Minister Madan Dilawar urged political groups not to turn schools into “political arenas.” Meanwhile, Congress leader Sachin Pilot criticised restrictions on outsiders visiting government schools and accused the Rajasthan government of trying to conceal shortcomings in the education system.
