Bengaluru East City Corporation Additional Commissioner Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar has directed officials to adopt an integrated approach to major road and infrastructure projects, with emphasis on quality, coordination and timely completion.

A progress review meeting examined projects including Hennur–Bagalur Road, Horamavu Service Road, High-Density Corridor roads, ITPL Road, Hope Farm–Old Madras Road, Outer Ring Road junctions and the Yeshwanthpur–K.R. Puram Elevated Corridor.

Officials were asked to prioritise Hennur–Bagalur and Horamavu works after site inspections and technical assessments. Drain width, stormwater capacity and future traffic requirements must be considered while finalising designs.

The quality and progress of ITPL and Hope Farm–Old Madras Road works were also reviewed, with officials instructed to complete them by the end of September.

For Outer Ring Road junctions, officials were directed to plan improvements beyond the junction itself, covering about 50 metres in all directions while considering traffic, pedestrian movement, drainage and connectivity.

The meeting also reviewed the elevated corridor project and directed officials to coordinate with the government to expedite pending processes. Immediate repairs were ordered for damaged drain slabs near Sudarshan Silks in Marathahalli.

“Major infrastructure projects must be planned as interconnected components, keeping future requirements in mind.”
