A Bidar BJP delegation has urged Union Labour and Employment Minister Shobha Karandlaje to establish a well-equipped ESI hospital in Bidar district.
The delegation met the minister in New Delhi and highlighted the healthcare difficulties faced by thousands of workers and their families covered under the ESI scheme.
The delegation said many workers employed in industrial, commercial and other sectors depend on hospitals outside the district for advanced treatment, emergency care and specialist services. Patients often have to travel to Kalaburagi, Hyderabad and other distant cities. This increases treatment expenses and travel time, creating additional difficulties for families during medical emergencies.
The leaders said an independent ESI hospital in Bidar would provide workers and their families with quality healthcare closer to home. The facility could offer specialist doctors, modern medical equipment, emergency treatment and other services under the ESI system. They also requested that cashless treatment and other benefits available under the scheme should be easily accessible locally.
The delegation stressed that workers play an important role in the country’s economic development and that their health and social security should receive priority. They requested the minister to take necessary steps to approve the hospital at the earliest. The minister heard their concerns and discussed healthcare and labour welfare issues affecting workers in Bidar district.
BJP district president Somnath Patil, Bidar South MLA Dr. Shailendra Beldale, Aurad MLA Prabhu B. Chavan, Basavakalyan MLA Sharanu Salagar, Humnabad MLA Siddu Patil, former Legislative Council chairman Raghunath Rao Malkapure and former MLA Prakash Khandre were among those present.
Party leaders and district office-bearers also attended. The delegation expressed hope that the proposal would receive positive consideration and improve healthcare access for workers and their families.
