Residents visiting Unkal Lake are facing safety concerns due to missing street lights along the walking path surrounding the lake. Locals said snakes and poisonous insects are frequently seen in the dark areas, creating fear among walkers and tourists. Crores of rupees were spent under Smart City projects to develop the lake and improve public facilities. However, citizens complained that poor maintenance and lack of proper lighting have reduced the benefits of the project. People questioned the role of civic authorities and demanded immediate action to restore lighting. Residents also warned that accidents could occur if the issue continues for several more days.
