MANGALURU
The streets near the district BJP office turned into a scene of joy today as party workers celebrated a strong performance in three state assembly elections, including West Bengal. With early results showing the party moving toward a majority, hundreds of supporters gathered to mark the victory with loud firecrackers and traditional sweets.
The celebration had a unique local flavor thanks to MLA Vedavyas Kamath. In a surprise move, the MLA personally prepared and served “churumuri” (puffed rice snack) to workers and the public. This gesture was a nod to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who famously enjoyed the same snack during his campaign trail in West Bengal. The act was a hit with the crowd, adding a personal and lighthearted touch to the political triumph.
The atmosphere was electric, with loud slogans praising the party’s leadership. Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta and other district leaders joined the festivities, while women party workers celebrated with traditional dances and cheers. Supporters distributed “laddus” to passersby, sharing their excitement with the general public.
For the local BJP unit, these results are a major boost in morale. Leaders at the event noted that the success in multiple states reflects a growing trust in the party’s vision. As the final numbers continue to trickle in, the celebration in Mangaluru shows no signs of slowing down, turning a regular day into a massive street festival for the party faithful.
