Congress missing in five state elections fight: Joshi

Joshi said Congress faces voter trust issues and weak ground presence, also citing internal leadership disputes and controversies

DAVANAGERE

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday attacked the Congress party saying it is missing from the five state elections and people are aware of its weak position under Rahul Gandhi leadership.
Speaking to reporters in Davanagere he said voting has been held in five states and results will be declared on May 4 and he expressed confidence that BJP will perform strongly under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also claimed that Congress is facing setbacks in several states including West Bengal Assam and Kerala while BJP is expected to win more seats than earlier predictions. Joshi criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee saying her reaction shows fear of defeat and alleged misuse of administrative machinery during elections. He further said Congress is also struggling with internal leadership issues and confusion over the Chief Minister post while BJP remains focused on development and governance.

Responding to LPG price rise he said commercial cylinder prices are decided by companies and global supply issues and assured that prices may reduce after conditions stabilize. He also raised allegations about corruption and law and order issues in Congress ruled states and said BJP would continue to highlight public concerns during campaigns. He said upcoming election outcomes will strengthen BJP position across the country and reflect public support for the leadership at the centre.

Joshi added that Congress is facing trust issues among voters and lacks strong ground presence in many regions according to his statement. He also commented on internal Congress leadership disputes saying names of senior leaders are being dragged into unnecessary political discussions.

The minister said BJP candidates are confident in both upcoming by elections in Karnataka and expect strong voter turnout in their favour. He urged party workers to continue reaching voters and highlight development works carried out under the central government schemes across states. Joshi concluded that BJP is confident of forming strong governments in several states after results are announced on May 4. Voting process across the country was peaceful and administration ensured proper arrangements in all polling stations said officials reports confirm.
